One of the greatest and most popular jazz tunes of all time.
Fabulous musicians all around. Dave is the guy on the piano. Check out his "Kathy's Waltz" for the sunshiney flipside to the smokey midnight vibe of "Take Five".

If you like cool jazz check out my MP3 list for lot's of stuff by Brubeck, Chet Baker, Arnett Cobb, George Shearing, Stan Getz and many others. I really this type of stuff, and have collected some of the best.

I heard a late iteration of the DB4 as "The Dave Brubeck Trio & Gerry Mulligan" in 1971. A few thousand college kids "jammed" into a spacious hall was scarcely the venue the group first began performing in, but it felt close and intimate, regardless. Great stuff.
