So the FBI just arrested 10 Russian spies who were attempting to "infiltrate policymaking circles". Yet we have/had self described communists, Marxist sympathizers and Mao admirers serving in the Obama Administration.
Maybe Russia didn't get the memo? Mission accomplished fellas.
Somebody on the private JournoList listserv (a private forum for left wing professors, activists and supposedly non-partisan mainstream journalists to converse and coordinate) outed Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel making some disparaging remarks about the conservative figures he was supposed to be objectively reporting on. This caused Weigel to resign, but no worries, he was promptly hired by... you guessed it, MSNBC.
So, now that you have the background info, let's journey through the bowels of the JournoList forum, courtesy of L33t hacker Iowahawk.

We The People can see letters written by George Washington when he was in his twenties, but Obama's birth certificate and school records are all either unavailable or sealed away from public scrutiny. Why is that?
In 1959 President Eisenhower's Secretary of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson hosted Soviet Premier Nikita Krushchev for half a day while he was visiting America and according to Benson Krushchev made the following remark:
"You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands."
If the Soviet Union had survived perhaps he'd be right about us falling into their hands, as it stands it looks like we're just going to fall, period.
Is this the Asian equivalent of the fall of the Berlin wall?
Bowing to reality, the North Korean government has lifted all restrictions on private markets -- a last-resort option for a leadership desperate to prevent its people from starving.
In recent weeks, according to North Korea observers and defector groups with sources in the country, Kim Jong Il's government admitted its inability to solve the current food shortage and encouraged its people to rely on private markets for the purchase of goods. Though the policy reversal will not alter daily patterns -- North Koreans have depended on such markets for more than 15 years -- the latest order from Pyongyang abandons a key pillar of a central, planned economy.
So... the North Koreans are abandoning Communist style central planning and embracing free markets at the very same moment the Obama administration is abandoning free markets and embracing Communist style central planning!
And people wonder why those tea party folks are so angry.
UPDATE: Welcome all you Rottweiler readers, and thanks to Imperial Torturer B.C. for the linkage.
Doc Zero has a great new piece out on Obama's "Defecit Reduction Commission":
Watching this Presidential commission discuss strategies for deficit reduction is like watching a pack of gluttons talk about getting in shape while they prowl up and down a buffet table. They linger over the deep-fried mortgage interest deduction caps, dip their spoons into the rich chocolate of the VAT tax, and lick their lips as they wait for the expired Bush tax cuts to pop out of the oven. They end up perched on the edge of creaking chairs, tittering at the wonderfully naughty idea of devouring everyone’s 401k plans for dessert. It’s a nauseating spectacle that will only end when they’re escorted from the restaurant by angry voters.
Who knew reading about a Presidential Commission could be so entertaining? Then again who knew we'd elect an Administration composed entirely of Keystone Kops? Go read the rest over at Doc's place.
I saw Glenn Beck sketch the basics of this on his chalkboard the other day and thought it'd make a good addition to the blog. So after some additions and improvements, here's my handy little chart explaining the political spectrum of left and right.
On the far right we have absolute liberty, no law, no order... total freedom. On the far left we have absolute tyranny, total government, total order... no freedom.
In between these extremes is the modern political spectrum. From Libertarians, to Conservatives, to Liberals to Socialists, this where the tug-of-war that is American politics lies.
P.S. Today's political left always tries to portray the Nazi's as a right wing movement, due to Hitler's nationalism, but that ignores the rest of his agenda which was very left wing. Much more info on this is available at my post FYI: Hitler was a Socialist.
P.P.S. I put moderate in quotes, because I believe political moderates are a myth., as I've never met a "moderate" who actually knew what they were talking about. It is my belief that "moderates" and so-called "independents" are just people who are unable or unwilling to search out the facts and form concrete opinions. These people simply let their opinions be swayed by whatever political breeze is currently blowing the strongest or by whatever the MSM/DNC Cabal tells them to think.
Brilliant Englishman Pat Condell has applied his rapier wit and intelligence to the proposal to build a mosque next to Ground Zero, and the results are fantastic:
I love everything that guy does. He's superb. It almost makes me wish that it was possible for a foreign born person to become President of The United States.
...
What? We already... Oh yeah. I forgot. I hope Mr. Condell has a "certificate of live birth" stashed away somewhere.
I saw some meme circulating on Facebook today taking a quote from BP rep Randy Prescott out of context and trying to stir up passions against the company. This despite the fact that:
BP lost the lives of eleven of their team to this disaster.
BP is already paying out millions of dollars in claims to help people who've been affected.
BP's employess are working 24/7 to stop the leak and clean up the spill.
BP is going to lose billions of dollars in this fiasco.
TRUST ME folks, BP gets it. Enough with the pitchforks and torches!
When did America become so unforgiving? Do we have to lynch someone every time something goes wrong, or can we just accept apologies and work to set things aright?
I blame lawyers. They've poisoned our thinking. In today's America it seems anyone's mistake is a chance for you to profit if you scream and holler enough.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials confirm with News4, a Pakistani citizen crossed the border illegally from Mexico into Arizona on May 20th.
ICE says the man was apprehended by Border Patrol on the Tohono O'odham reservation and turned over to ICE.
Oh boy. ... How many of his jihadi friends already made it across? How many sleeper cells do we have operating?
- - - - -
Dear Mr. Obama,
We can't risk the lives of our citizens waiting for your "comprehensive immigration reform" legislation. Secure the damned border right f-ing now, before we have another 9-11.
Sixty six years ago today America's finest threw themselves against the beaches of Normandy, a tide of humanity striving to wash Hitler's stain from Europe. They succeeded, but far too many never lived to see it.
There's something about Led Zeppelin that just says "summer" to me... Maybe it's all the accoustic guitars, maybe it's the occasional flute, maybe it's Plant's evocative imagery? I'm not sure, but I'm always in the mood for this stuff when the weather turns warm.
As this chart makes clear, the Obama Administration naively spent $2,800,000,000 just to move auto purchases from September, October and November into June, July and August. This accomplished nothing in the real world, aside from cementing the loyalty of the UAW votes for Obama and his cronies.
And then we have the just released employment numbrs for May 2010 that show almost no growth in the private sector, but a huge temporary boost from the Census (government workers, Democrat voters).
And let's keep in mind that all those Census jobs are temporary... can you imagine the employment crash that will result when their work is done? Not to mention the fact that there's been some chicanery alleged where Census workers have been hired one month, fired, then hired again the next month in order to count as more than one job "saved or created" by Obama's stimulus legilstation.
Oh well. What did we expect when we have a President and an entire administration who've never signed the front of a paycheck?
The left's reaction to the Israeli seizure of the "Freedom Flotilla" vessel Mavi Marmara as it tried to break the blockade on direct shipments to the Gaza Strip is really mystifying to me. There have even been comparisons of the Hammas supporters with the Martin Luther King's civil rights protestors of the 1960's.
Here's Media Matters / Huffington Post columnist Mark Rosenberg:
"[...] the activists were like the civil rights demonstrators who sat down at segregated lunch counters throughout the South and refused to leave until they were served. Their goal was not really to get breakfast. It was to end segregation."
Really Mark?
Hmm... I don't recall those marching with Dr. King smashing the heads of unconcious police officers with metal pipes, nor do I recall them trying to smuggle missles into Alabama. I think your comparison here is just a little skewed...
Most liberals also seem to have some need to find moral equivalence between Israel and the terrorists and tyrannies that oppose her.
"Iran wants nukes? So what, Israel has them!"
Yeah, but it's not the official position of the Israeli government to exterminate the Iranian people, on the other hand, Iran's leader has vowed repeatedly to do exactly that to the Israelis. Can't you guys see the difference?
That's not the only difference either:
Israel is a Democracy. The Muslim governments surrounding her are, by and large, tyrannies and corrupt theocracies.
Israel allows freedom of religion. You can be a Hindu, a Bhuddist, or even a Muslim in Israel and it's no problem, but many of the Muslim nations surrounding her persecute non-Muslims. Jailing Christians, forbidding the building of churches, and even confiscating copies of the Bible.
People in Israel can be openly homosexual. Homosexuals in the Muslim countries are routinely jailed, tortured and executed for this "crime".
Women in Israel have equal rights and the protection of the State, but women in many of the Muslim countries surrounding her are treated like livestock. The subjugation, beating, rape and murder ("honor killing") of females in the Muslim world is routine and often sanctioned by the State.
We could keep going with this list of course, but you get the point. You'd think liberals would embrace Israel as the beacon of liberty and social progress in the Middle East, but again and again they side with terrorists and tyrannies against the Israelis.
I think this warrants some more research... Glenn Beck pointed out today that the term "anti-Semite" was coined by a German Socialist. Coincidence? Somehow I doubt it.
The warped mind of a liberal is still beyond my understanding, but I'm trying.
UPDATE: Right after I posted this the Queen of the liberal media, Helen Thomas, made this ridiculous statement which amounts to an endorsement of ethnic cleansing:
