Hi There...

Sorry I've been away from the blogosphere, but resigning from a company you've worked at for over twenty three years tends to be a little distracting.

It was a really tough decision, but I think a correct one.  The writing was on the wall and I thought it better to leave on my own terms than to wait until it was convenient for the owners to let me go or demote me.

I've sinced hired on with a former competitor and I'm hopeful they will allow me to help them improve and build up their business they way I did for my previous employer.

Other than that not too much to report.  Obama still sucks.  None of the GOP candidates are exciting me much.  The MSM/DNC Cabal is ruining America.  Gas prices are too damn high.  Life goes on.

One Million Hits!

This little blog of mine just crossed the one million hits milestone. Woo hoo! I think I'll take myself out for a steak tonight, I deserve it.

Nancy Pelosi Google Bomb

So I checked my blog traffic after lunch today (getting close to the one million mark!) and I noticed a huge spike of Google clicks to that Nancy Pelosi babe post from awhile back:

I was mystified as to what would cause this, thinking perhaps Google had just reassinged me higher in their search rankings.  Then I clicked onto The Drudge Report and noticed a photo front and center of Nancy Pelosi looking... well, a little chesty. 

Mystery solved.  A tiny photo of some big ole grandma cans "peeked the interest" of a few thousand horny newshounds, who naturally made their way over to my babes section. LMAO.

You see, I've been a little distracted.

But I'm almost done with The Pacific, and there's only 2 more episodes of The Walking Dead left to go, so I should be back to my normal semi-regular bloviating before you know it.

 

Half A Million

Today this little blog of mine crossed the 500,000 pageview milestone, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank some of those who've made this little achievement possible:

• Thanks to President Barack Obama Barry Soetoro for creating a huge legion of people who are getting tired of being lied to.
• Thanks to the MSM/DNC Cabal who refuse to report anything contrary to the agenda, unintentionally sending most of those truth seekers to blogs like mine.
• Thanks to Rose McGowan, Robin Meade and Denise Milani and all the other lovely ladies in my Babes section, for bringing in untold thousands of visitors who've then clicked through to explore the rest of the site, hopefully picking up a kernel of right thinking along the way.
• Thanks to Al Gore for creating the absurd myth of global warming that allowed my chart to become one of the top images on Google for the topic.
• Thanks to my man cave, especially the home theater, for being totally awesome and attracting tens of thousands of web surfers.
• Thanks to whatever cosmic mystery created today's unusual surge in traffic, making it the biggest day my blog ever had.  I'm on track to top 5,000 today, more than double my average.
• And last, but not least, a heartfelt thanks to all my regular readers, lurkers, commenters and all the good people in my blogroll list to the right.  Without your interest this little soire would have been called off at 50,000 hits.

Now, how to celebrate? ... Perhaps I'll go out for steak and then retire to the man cave.

Hit Me

What's up with all these web hits I've been getting these last few days?  I went from 1,500 to 2,000 a day to 3,000+ all of a sudden.  Oh, the website for a UK TV show linked to me, and all their fans began linking on Facebook and Twitter.  Cool! 

Well this just means I'm closing in on half a million hits even faster now.  Perhaps I should have a contest or something to celebrate.  Any ideas fellas?

Reasons Why I Wasn't Blogging This Weekend

#1 This was my first weekend off in... well, since January I think.  Had to do some of the family / home stuff that regular folks enjoy.

#2 I had some friends over that I hadn't seen in awhile.  We hung out and talked.  Real face to face social interaction... you remember that don't you?

#3 I was reading a good book.

#4 I was assembling some new bookshelves and organizing the contents:

Now... what was this shit I heard about a new immigration bill?  Obama's not content with screwing up the economy and our healthcare, so now he's going to trash our sovereignty?

Well, well well... what have we here?  A little blog milestone?  Yes, that's exactly what:

A quarter of a million hits on this little old blog.  Not too shabby for a year and a half after starting from scratch if I do say so myself.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies in my babes section for drawing in thousands of eyeballs to the site, and thanks to all those horny bastards who clicked in for Denise Milani's hooters then went on to browse The Democrats Are To Blame For Wrecking The Economy, Man Made Global Warming Is The Biggest Hoax In The History Of Mankind or one of my other educational posts. 

It's insidious really... I lure them in with tatas, and then expose them to things the MSM/DNC Cabal would rather keep hidden.  Bwahahaha!

Well, it's been fun so far, and since Obama and Pelosi show no sign of slwoing down their rush to Socialism, I expect I'll have plenty to bitch about between now and 500,000 hits.  Blog on baby, blog on!

Long Time, No See

I haven't been blogging much lately, but I figured I should post an update to let everyone know I'm not in the slammer or something...

Here's the list of all the things I've been doing lately in lieu of blogging:

• During the days I've been working 50-60 hours 6-7 days a week.  Staying in business and keeping my job would be swell if I can manage it.
• During the evenings and in the wee hours when I can't sleep (due to the above) I've been reading all of R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt novels and short stories, in order.  That's 22 paperbacks and 10 short stories!  I'm about two thirds through it at the moment.
• On the weekends I've been watching the Deadwood Season 2 & 3 DVD sets I just picked up cheap on Half.com.  Now that is some great TV! 
• In between I play the occasional pinball or arcade game in the man cave.

And that's about it... yeah really.

Until things get back to normal (and God forbid this is the "new normal")  I'll be leaving most of the current events stuff to all the wonderful folks in my sidebar who have the brain cells and attention to spare for it.  For now I'm just too tired to dwell on anything outside of keeping my head above water and keeping my sanity.

FYI: I'll be cleaning out my blogroll this weekend.  If you are listed and don't have a reciprocating link to my site you're gone.  If your blog has been inactive for over 3 months you're gone.  If you turned into a liberal your gone.  If your site sucks bigtime your gone.  Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

AWOL?

I apologize for the lack of blog posts over the last week or so.  There's been an increase in activity both at home and work that's had me tied up.  Only so many hours in the day and all that. 

Setting up the new PC in my subteranean lair, moving the old PC upstairs for the girls to use, transferring all the files and programs, finishing up a MAJOR enhancement to the man cave, and working 10+ hours a day have left me little time or energy for the blog.

I should be back in the swing of things late this week, or early next week.  We'll see.  In the meantime please visit my bloggin' buddies featured in the list to the right to fuel your interweb addiction.

Long time blog buddy Fits over at Shooting The Messenger is about to cross the 10,000 post mark.  Can you believe that?  I can't. 

I wonder where I'd be if I hadn't canned two blogs in a row?  There's something to be said for starting fresh though...

Anyways, stop by and check him out.  With 10,000 posts I'm sure there's something over there you'd appreciate, maybe a lot of somethings.

One Year Of Chronicling Hope And Change, Plus Some Babes & Stuff

Today marks the one year anniversary (blogiversary?) of Woody's Place. 

I started this blog on the last day I was really optimistic about our future, the day Senator McCain selected Sarah Palin as his running mate.  Unfortunately I underestimated both the influence of the MSM/DNC Cabal and the laziness and stupidity of a vast swath of our electorate.

Despite my dissappointment, in the days just prior to the inauguration I decided to wipe the slate and give Mr. Obama a chance to earn my respect.  I deleted all the old vitriolic posts and launched the blog anew intending to keep things a little more positive and not focus so much on politics.  Events have conspired against me though, as never would I have imagined that things could go so badly so quickly for our nation, and I could not continue to ignore the obvious.

So now I guess I'm right back where I started from right after the election.  Bitter, dejected, and pissed off.  Let's hope we have some better news to blog about in the coming year.  Maybe Obama will see the light and embrace his inner Reagan?

Google Me Baby

It's always a nice feeling when you've got the top spot on Google for a hot topic that's in the news.  We'll see how long until I'm bumped off the first page.  Two days?  A week?

I believe Rush Limbaugh pretty much launched this one into the stratosphere on his show this afternoon.  My traffic is about 5 times what it normally is for a weekday.

Oh Scrap!

My bloggin' buddy(?) Cbullit from Soylent Green sent me this, and according to the meme I have to forward it to ten other bloggers and then share "10 Honest Things" about myself. 

Hmm...

Figuring out who to send it to might actually be harder than thinking up some dirt to dish on myself.  I don't have a very big blogroll, some there have already been tagged, and some of them don't really delve into the personal, their blogs are 100% politics and vitriol (talking to YOU Hank).

How about I do eight and we just call it fair?

1. Where Are My Keys? - Madeline's Dad (yeah, that's what he goes by) is a pretty friendly chap.  He's bound to come up with something interesting.
2. Third World County - David was one of my original blog buddies from back on my first blog.  If he can find time his list will be a fun read no doubt.
3. Mitchieville - Let's see what those Canadians are all abooot.
4. O'Shea Family Weblog - I guarantee the word "man cave" will appear on Brian's list somewhere.
5. That Was Then, This Is Now - Cory is a real sweetheart, but she's probably going to throw us at least one curveball...  
6. Shooting The Messenger - Fits has some tales to tell... not sure if he's legally able to yet.  He'll probably have to check with his lawyer first.
7. RT's Ponderings - Come on RT!  I know you've got some good stuff from your heavy metal days.
8. When Your Only Tool Is A Hammer - Enjoy your vacation Hammer?  Good, now get working on this assignment.   

Okay, now on to my 10 honest things:

1. I'm a damn good shot with my Glock 19, but only so-so with my Tec-9 or my Calico M-100. 
2. I'm a bit of a wuss.  I tear up every time I listen to Kenny Chesney's "There Goes My Life" (just did again) or Barber's "Adagio For Strings", and that "Fallen Soldier's Homecoming" video made me weep profusely.
3. I've never played poker in my life.  Card games bore the shit out of me. 
4. I barely graduated from high school.  Not from lack of smarts, just from lack of giving a damn. 
5. I have a huge collection of Dungeons & Dragons books and memorabilia that I've been collecting since I was ten years old.  It totals well over $6,000.
6. I was married in full period costume on the deck of the HMS Britannia at the Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas, and a pirate even swung down from the crow's nest to deliver the wedding rings.  My wife looked especially lovely that day... I married up for sure.
7. I honestly do think a good majority of our nation's ills can be traced back to Democratic politicians or their allies in  the media.  This blog persona is not an act.
8. I do not enjoy rollercoasters and thrill rides, but I once made my dad whiteknuckle the dashboard while driving my '93 Pontiac Grand Prix on State Route 127 in Tennessee.  That car could really straighten out some corners!
9. I watch this video on YouTube at least once a week, and sometimes several times a day.  Does that make me a sucker for a good pop tune, or a little bit freaky?
10. I think I'm part hermit.  I can go entire weekends without leaving the house, and barely even going above ground.  My man cave really is cave-like for me, it's not just a phrase.

Political Burnout

If you haven't noticed, the blog posts have been trending lighter as of late.  Truth be told Obama's just worn me out.  I can only be outraged about so many things for so long before I just run out of steam.

That happened last week.  Now I'm in recovery mode. 

I'll get back to exposing the Democrat's agenda to destroy America sometime soon... maybe next week, or the week after.  Hopefully it won't be too late.

My long time blog bud Wyatt Earp recently blogged about Al Sharpton's latest "protest", i.e. attempt to blackmail a company using trumped up charges of racism.  His commentary caught the attention of a Sharpton disciple named Marlene, who was eager to apply her mastery of language, politics, history and racism in the comments section.  Here is an excerpt from her diatribe:

Woody's Place 2.0

Welcome to Woody's Place 2.0!

This new version of my blog is going to be less about trying to change the world, and more about enjoying my time in it.  Sure I'll comment on politics and other controversial stuff from time to time, but I plan to spend a bit less time getting worked up about stuff and more time focusing on the things I enjoy.  That's the plan anyway... we'll see.

The column on the left contains icons representing the kinds of things I plan to post about.  Before anybody feels the need to ask me, I'll just fess up right here: #1 Yes, I am that big of a geek, and #2 yes that is really me on the Big Wheel.
